Our CEO Noah Drake participated in a spotlight session during TMT Finance‘s APAC conference. Moderated by Elles Houweling, Noah and other panelists – Timotius Max Sulaiman & Kunal Bajaj – engaged in a dynamic discussion on the evolving landscape of fibre models and differing capital pools within today’s investment landscape.
Key insights included:
- The Southeast Asia Market is in early stages of aggressive future build out, with current focus split across FTTH (fibre to the home) and DCI (data centre interconnects)
- There is mutually beneficial opportunity for consolidation across various operators in a number of markets; but equally important is for tighter alignment between operators and their sponsors to realise upsides to investment thesis and timelines
- Across the fiber industry, there appears to be a notable shift from traditional private equity to infrastructure funds, indicating investors are now viewing fibre as an asset class
